WFN Collaborates with HEAVY EUROPE 2019
We are pleased to announce the 1st international conference «Heavy Europe» to be held on October 10-11, 2019 in Holiday Inn Hamburg – City Nord , Germany.
The conference will be focused on various aspects of project, out-of-gauge and overweight cargoes logistics in Europe.
The Baltic Sea region is strategic for delivery of oversized and heavy loads for Russia. A good part of European portion of Russia is leaning towards logistics through the regional port complexes while hosting main businesses of the basic industries, many of which tend to use imported equipment for production refurbishment. Besides, the majority of industrial cargoes for Siberia, Belarus and Central Asia countries also pass along the Baltic transport corridor. The mentioned circumstance leads to stable volume of cargo flows going through the Baltic ports on the one hand, and on the other hand, contributes to growth of competition in this sector. WFN Collaborate with The Maritime Standard Tanker Conference
The fourth annual The Maritime Standard Tanker Conference will take place on Tuesday 22nd October at the Atlantis, the Palm, Dubai. The first three events have been both extraordinarily successful and popular, raising the profile of the tanker shipping business regionally and globally. The selection of a larger venue in 2018 paid off with a much-increased delegate attendance and an even bigger audience is anticipated this year. Already established as one of the leading events on the tanker shipping calendar, the Conference is aimed at key decision makers and high-level policy takers within the tanker shipping business. This year’s event takes place at a time of considerable volatility and uncertainty within the tanker shipping business. While some of the market fundamentals appear positive, there are significant challenges posed by the political-economic context, as well as the imposition of new environmental rules. The Conference will focus on key market trends in the crude, products, chemicals and gas tanker markets, giving attendees a unique insight into the opportunities that exist and how to capitalise on them. It will also assess ancillary sectors, such as the bunker supply, law, ship agency and supplies, and petrochemicals trades. The event is a must-attend, not only for tanker owners and operators, but all companies that provide products and services to this sector of the shipping industry. The intention is that attendees will leave the TMS Tanker Conference with a much clearer idea about future trade patterns, and market influences, so they are better placed to build the foundations for longer term business growth. WFN Collaborate with The Maritime Standard Ship Finance and Trade Conference
The fifth annual The Maritime Standard Ship Finance and Trade Conference will be held at the Sofitel Abu Dhabi Corniche on 6th November 2019. It will seek to build on the reputation for quality information sharing and networking earned over the past four years.
In 2018 the Conference attracted a high-quality audience of around 150 executives and decision makers from across the industry. They assembled to discuss and debate the key issues and trends facing the shipping and ports market in the Middle East and the Indian Subcontinent, with a particular focus on financial issues. The audience heard from some of the best-known personalities in the business, all leaders in their chosen fields, who highlighted the importance of building partnerships to help accelerate investment-led growth within the industry.
Keynote speaker, H.E. Ahmed Shareef Alkhoori, Director General, Federal Transport-Land & Maritime, set the scene, underlining some of the positive changes being planned for the country’s maritime laws, and the proactive role the UAE is now taking in its role as an IMO Council member. He was followed by Abu Dhabi Ports chief executive, Capt. Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, who gave the second keynote presentation, urging financial institutions to work more closely in partnership with ports and shipping companies.
The main session assessed how infrastructure and asset investment can unlock trade potential after which conference delegates were treated to a special ‘up close’ question and answer interview session with Sanjay Mehta, Chairman, S One Capital, and Bibop Gresta, Chairman, Hyperloop. Other sessions assessed the future of ship finance and in particular the implications of changes in this sector for the market in Middle East and the Indian Subcontinent, and also how stakeholders can support regional trade development.
After the presentations there was a networking opportunity at which attendees and panelists were able to continue discussions about issues raised during the event.
For the 2019 TMS Ship Finance and Trade Conference, currently at the planning stage, a similarly high caliber list of speakers will be assembled. Based on the very positive experience of the first four events, this will be a not-to-be-missed Conference that will not only feature a chance to learn from industry experts but will provide extensive opportunities for networking as well. WFN Collaborate with 8th Ship Recycling Congress 2020
The 8th edition of ACI’s Ship Recycling Congress will provide an insight into the latest updates on the EU Regulation 1257/2013 and the capacity issues, will focus on sustainable ship recycling, recycling of vessels with no EU flag, ratification of IMO’s Hong Kong convention, the global market overview, the Inventory Hazardous Materials, and much more.
The Congress will bring together senior executives and experts from ship owners, ship operators, ship yards, major associations, cash buyers, and green owners, class societies, and others, to discuss the latest changes, challenges and developments within the industry.
Ship breaking allows the materials from the ship, especially steel, to be recycled and made into new products. This lowers the demand for mined iron ore and reduces energy use in the steelmaking process. While ship breaking is sustainable, there are concerns about the use of poorer countries without stringent environmental legislation. It is also considered one of the world’s most dangerous industries and very labour-intensive.
Join us in Amsterdam on 29th – 30th January and do not miss the opportunity to meet key representatives of the industry. Visit Website
